something you can do from home or if maybe it is one of those scams you
see advertised all the time.Well I will tell you it definitely is not
a scam, it is very possible to earn quite a good salary just typing doctors' charts from home. I've been doing it for 13 years, so I know it is a legitimate business opportunity that anyone can learn if they want to.Medical transcription is simply the process of transcribing doctors' recorded dictation into medical charts. You may have noticed when you visit the doctor's office that your physician may, at the end of your visit, dictate a summary of your visit into a small hand-held recorder. These are the notes that will later be transcribed.Now, what does it take to become a transcriptionist? You need to be able to type accurately (or be able to learn to do this), and you need to have some knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy and physiology. You can either take a course at a local college or take an online course to learn these things. You can also learn on your own but I would advise you to at least get something online to follow and some practice tapes to learn from. You can also find transcription jobs that will teach you how to transcribe, also pay you while you do this!I actually went to college to learn but here's the thing. I got my job before I had even completed the first course, so I basically knew nothing at all about what I was doing. It really depends on the company and what they require.
